POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Route Supervisor, the Operations/Rear Load Driver is responsible for transporting waste carts, handy haulers and containers to/from customer locations. Responsible for bulky cleanups and handy haulers. Repair, prep and paint containers/carts, handy hauler dumps, and wash rack work as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, the Operations/Rear Load Driver must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
• At the beginning of the driver's day, the driver is required to stretch and flex with there department team.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents inspection on standard Driver Vehicle Inspection Report.
• Responsible for driving a flatbed truck, pickup and trailer, fork truck, or frontload truck used for delivery, exchange, removal, and maintaining waste carts, handy haulers, and containers for the routes.
• Responsible for contacting the office or route supervisor if a problem occurs such as problem customers, problems with waste carts, handy haulers and containers, address problems or any questions regarding the placement, exchange, removal or maintaining of waste carts, handy haulers, or containers.
• Identifies and reports all equipment in need of repair or replacement.
• Performs handy hauler dumps using a frontload truck as scheduled.
• Service bulky/large item cleanups as scheduled with a rear load truck.
• Responsible for washing carts and containers and maintaining wash rack cleanliness as needed.
• Prep and paint containers as needed.
• Responsible for keeping the truck and equipment clean.
• Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential.
• Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs.
• Utilize onboard computer dispatch and routing system.
• Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process.
• Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
• Hold a current Driver's License.
• Must be able to lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
