Investigator I: $24.69 - $30.01 /hr.
Investigator II: $27.28 - $31.15 /hr.
Tuolumne County Community Development is seeking an investigator to conduct inspections, prepare cases to enforce relating to land use, public nuisances, and illegal dumping; investigate complaints and issue citations for violations.
Minimum Qualifications: Equivalent to completion of twelfth (12th) grade. Completion of college courses in criminal justice, public administration, psychology or a related field.
Code Conmpliance Investigator I: Experience that includes interviewing, report writing and interpretation and application of guidelines and regulations is desirable.
Code Compliance Investigator II (In addition to the above): Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in code compliance or two (2) years of experience as a Code Compliance Investigator I in Tuolumne County. Experience that includes interviewing, report writing and interpretation and application of guidelines and regulations.
A degree in Criminal Justice may substitute for the above experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
• Possession of a California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Code Compliance Investigator I must be able to obtain a Basic Level Certificate as a Certified Code Compliance Officer from the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers (CACEO) within one year of employment.
• Code Compliance Investigator II must possess a Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Level Certificate as a Certified Code Compliance Officer from the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers (CACEO).
